The FlowWright team spent a year studying, analyzing, and listening to customer feedback before settling on the new UI design, including critical technology updates.
Here's what we wanted to accomplish with the new UI:
- High performance on any device
- Proper resolution and scaling on different devices and screen resolutions
- Consistent look and feel
- Graphics and icons that scale properly
- UI experience that is easy to customize
- Intuitive user experience
- Modern look
- Efficient use of screen real estate
All screens, from login screen onwards, have been changed to adhere to the above points.
The new UI structure is similar to the old UI, where the menu is on the left, but that menu is made to auto expand/collapse to give more real estate to detail pages. On larger screens, menu can be pinned to keep it expanded. Detail pages are rendered based on menu selections.
Each detail page shows a list of data and an auto-open menu. In addition, the menu is more efficient because it is organized based on most common actions used.
In addition to a more intuitive and effective UI, several supporting technologies that render the user interface have been upgraded. These technology upgrades provide better UI performance on different devices.
Furthermore, all menu icons and application icons are now vector graphics icons that are able to scale in any resolution or device. In addition, the UI now uses modern fonts that are web-optimized.
