ESB Workflow ESB Workflow Connects The Work With the Information

Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is not one of those network communication theoretical concepts that you hear about but probably will not see for a long time. Enterprise Service Bus or ESB actually does exist and has been implemented in many different forms and applications. At this time there is no defined standard, no "Universal" Enterprise Service Bus software configuration. While ESB designs change to fit the needs of the implementation, some of the better ESB designs are implemented with high performance in mind. At their core, ESB’s serve one purpose, they were created to enhance the way our designs function. ESB workflows are all about performance, performance, performance.

ESB’s primarily connect systems together using event based, information processing.  This tool has proven effective in handling processing and communications needs between divergent systems.   In the old days, automated systems were integrated using many different technologies. ESB's now can act as the high speed information highway between systems using a common communication protocol such as SOAP / XML Web services or direct APIs.

cDevWorkflow provides a high performance Enterprise Service Bus ESB workflow as a standard component within our product.  We implemented the Enterprise Service Bus within our BPM workflow engine with the customer / end user in mind.   Knowing that BPM Workflow applications require BOTH high performance and access to an Event publisher / subscriber model, the Enterprise Service Bus was a must have.   In cDevWorkflow, events can be defined, and event handlers can be defined. Mapping of information can be defined between events and event handlers as well.  Using the mappings, when events are published to the ESB workflow, the defined event handlers act upon each of the published events.
