We are happy to see another complex event processing successful BPM implementation as a client of ours releasing their next generation DNA sequencing product to the world.  DNA sequencing for the Hepatitis C virus completely running on the cloud with distributed processing.  cDevWorkflow had a major role in this solution.

Their application performs sequence alignment in the cloud, where many of the alignments performed might contain between 100 to 1000’s of DNA Sequences.  Performing large quantities of sequences are difficult to efficiently count in real-time.  In order to manage the processing of these sequence alignment jobs, workflow instances are distributed between a group of servers and processed using cDevWorkflow.

Since cDevWorkflow contains distributed processing, The clients application utilizes the distribution capabilities of cDevWorkflow to perform the jobs.  cDevWorkflow is a high performance distributed business process management engine that can process one job or a million jobs. One tool. No scaling problems as your business needs change.

cDevWorkflow was able to perform the following using distributed computing requirements within this successful BPM project:

  • Sequence alignment specific to the Hepatitis C virus
  • Re alignment of results
  • Generation of phylogeny trees
  • Contig assembly

Above are some of the operations handled using cDevWorkflow.  Contact us at support@cDevWorkflow.com to discuss how we may work together with your workflow application requirements.
